The Mega Millions Jackpot is now their biggest prize ever, after no one has won the jackpot since July.
This is also the largest prize in US history, with $1.6 Bllion (!) to be paid on the coming Tuesday night draw (October 23rd).
This is expected to grow even bigger, as the jackpot for Friday’s draw was first set at $868M, then on Wednesday it was raised to $900M, and then $970M, and finally $1B the day before the draw.
The Mega Millions draw is open to players from all over the world, through TheLotter.com or other services, that buy actual paper tickets for their users.
Players may pick six numbers from two separate pools of numbers – five different numbers from 1 to 70 and one number from 1 to 25 – or select Easy Pick/Quick Pick. You win the jackpot by matching all six winning numbers in a drawing.
Mega Millions draws take place Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 PM EST.
The last draw took place on Friday (15-23-53-65-70 Mega Ball: 7).
Of the 12.5 million tickets sold worldwide ahead of Friday’s drawing, 15 tickets matched all five numbers but not the Mega Ball, making them worth $1,000,000 each.
